Sullivan County Passes Resolution on Marriage

county-commission-JPGGive thanks to the Lord for a righteous decision by the Sullivan County Tennessee Board of Commissioners!

This morning they voted overwhelmingly in favor of a resolution to call on the Tennessee General Assembly and the Governor to keep their oaths of office and uphold the Constitutions of the State of Tennessee and the United States by resisting the unjust supreme court ruling on same-sex mirage.

The Kingsport Times reports:

Jesus, guns, and gay marriage dominated much of the Sullivan County Commission’s monthly meeting this morning, beginning with prayer and hymns and culminating in a commission vote to “support the historical institution and legal contract solemnizing the relationship of one man and one woman shall be the only legally recognized marital contract in the state of Tennessee.”

The “Tennessee Equality Project” issued a statement predictably condemning so-called “marriage equality” shortly after the successful vote, claiming that the Commission has “rushed the county into encouraging our State Legislature to engage in a lawless, expensive fool’s errand of defying the Supreme Court of the United States”.
